Autodesk Revit Cloud Model Version Changes Coming November 17, 2026
Autodesk is making an important change to Revit Cloud Models that Revit users should be aware of. Beginning November 17, 2026, Revit Cloud Model functionality will no longer be available in Revit versions older than the current version plus the five previous versions.
If your team is working with Revit Cloud Models in an older version of Revit, now is the time to review your models and plan for the change.
What Is Changing?
Starting November 17, 2026, you will no longer be able to create or open Revit Cloud Models using Revit versions that fall outside Autodesk's supported version range.
Your local Revit functionality will not be affected. You can continue using older Revit versions for local desktop workflows; the change specifically applies to Revit Cloud Models.
What Do You Need to Do?
Autodesk recommends upgrading your active cloud models to Revit 2022 or newer before November 17, 2026.
The easiest way to prepare is to use Autodesk's Revit Cloud Model Upgrade feature to upgrade your active cloud models before the deadline.
Taking care of these upgrades ahead of time can help prevent interruptions to your team's cloud-based workflows.

According to Autodesk, the change is part of an effort to simplify its product portfolio and continue evolving its Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations solutions within the Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud.

What Should Your Team Do Now?
If your company uses Revit Cloud Models, we recommend taking a few steps before the November deadline:
- Identify your active Revit Cloud Models.
- Check which versions of Revit your teams are currently using.
- Determine whether any cloud models need to be upgraded.
- Use Autodesk's Revit Cloud Model Upgrade feature to upgrade eligible models.
- Give your team plenty of time to test upgraded models and workflows before November 17.
